The theory behind the WAC is very solid, and they could become VERY useful to the war effort. We all have heard the rumor that the WAC is the hiding place of professional whores, and at the same time we have seen some WAC's with excellent character, education, and ideas about winning the war. People are just beginning to realize that every man in uniform is not a rapist, and people should be informed about the WAC's --- BUT NOT IN THE "high-sounding eloquence" of the WAC lieutenant at the local station. To learn to know people is half the fight of learning to like them. Why not make the soldiers more acquainted with his sisters so he'll know what they're doing?
Going into the WAC is not stepping into the "gutter" of society, but rumor sometimes puts it "on the curb." I'm all for the WAC's IF and WHEN I'm sure they're doing their job.
